I keep thinking about Dusk because the interesting part isn't really “privacy blockchain” as a slogan. It’s the attempt to make confidential transactions useful for financial systems where everything normally has to be visible, audited, reconciled, and checked by different parties.

The XSC idea is interesting for that reason. If confidential smart contracts actually work at scale, you could imagine things like securities settlement, institutional accounting, or supply-chain agreements happening without exposing every piece of commercially sensitive data to the whole network.

But I keep coming back to the same problem: financial infrastructure is messy. A logistics company doesn’t just need a private database. It needs banks, regulators, auditors, suppliers, software vendors and other systems to understand what happened. Dusk can make the blockchain side confidential, but that doesn’t magically solve the integration problem.

I could be wrong here, but I think that’s where the real test is. The technology can be impressive and still fail if nobody wants to connect their existing systems to it.

My current view is... Dusk is technically interesting, but its real future depends less on privacy itself and more on whether that privacy can fit into boring, complicated financial infrastructure
