US financial conditions just hit their easiest level since 1997.

This isn't some obscure metric. It tracks how freely money flows through the system—interest rates, credit spreads, stock valuations, the dollar, borrowing costs. All of it.

Right now it's sitting at ~1.29. For context, during the March 2026 selloff, this index was about to go negative. Even the 2021 meme stock mania didn't push conditions this loose.

What's driving it? Stocks at all-time highs. Corporate bond spreads near their tightest since 1998. Money is cheap and abundant.

This tells you two things:

1. The market believes growth is solid and risk is low
2. Everyone's got access to capital—companies, investors, traders

But easy conditions don't last forever. When money flows this freely, it usually finds its way into riskier bets. Valuations stretch. Complacency creeps in.

History says extremes like this don't end quietly. They end when something breaks or the Fed steps in.

For now, ride the wave. Just don't forget where the exits are.
