Private credit market showing serious cracks. The illiquidity premium that justified higher yields is now becoming an actual problem — not just theoretical risk. When everyone's chasing 10-12% returns in a world of rising rates and tightening liquidity, you have to ask: who's holding the bag when defaults spike?

This isn't 2008 redux, but it rhymes. Levered lending to companies that can't access public markets, minimal covenants, mark-to-model valuations, and zero daily liquidity. The moment redemptions pick up or credit spreads blow out, this gets messy fast.

Watch for:
• Redemption gates at major funds
• NAV markdowns (finally)
• Pension funds and endowments scrambling
• Flight to quality into IG credit or Treasuries

If you're overweight private credit or BDCs, might be time to reassess. Liquidity is king when the tide goes out.
