Before looking closely into this issue, I always thought that escrow on Binance P2P was almost an impenetrable shield, as long as the coin was locked in the system, the transaction would be safe.

At that time, I had never really verified the limits of this mechanism. So, I decided to go back and take a closer look at how Binance P2P protects users.

The result was more nuanced than I expected.

There was one point that matched what I had always thought: when the seller creates an advertisement, the coin is locked in the escrow system and the transaction is recorded on the platform.

But what surprised me was that escrow is not an impenetrable shield. It is like a temporary lock and that lock only becomes powerful when the user does not unlock it themselves through their own negligence.

The real problem is not escrow.

It lies in the discipline of the user.

If you step outside the platform, chat on Zalo, trust a transfer screenshot or release the coin before checking your bank account yourself, you have unlocked the lock yourself.

Before releasing, you must log into your bank yourself, see that the real money has arrived, the amount matches, the information matches and only then release the coin. No exceptions.

Looking back, I realized that I used to think technology would protect me, instead of understanding that my own actions determine whether that layer of protection remains effective or not.

Escrow is not useless. It simply cannot save someone who is careless.

On P2P, the winner is not the person who has more coins.

The winner is the person who never unlocks the lock before seeing the real money in their hands.
