I've seen quite a few cases of people getting talked into moving deals off-platform, into Telegram or WhatsApp chats, with the pitch being "lower fees, faster settlement
and almost all of them lost everything, because at that point there's no escrow holding either side, just a verbal promise.
What I find most dangerous isn't even the immediate loss, it's losing the right to appeal entirely
Binance refuses to process disputes for any transaction that didn't happen on the platform, since there's no escrow data and no chat log to verify against.
The way I see it, whatever fee you "save" by trading off-platform never comes close to covering the risk of losing your entire principal, especially since scammers specifically target people who want fast, high-volume trades and don't want to wait on escrow.
