The more I learn about financial products, the less I trust my first impression.

I've noticed a pattern.

If something sounds familiar, I assume I already understand it.

If it sounds technical, I assume it's too complicated.

Reading about bStocks reminded me that both assumptions can be wrong.

I realized that most misunderstandings don't come from complex products - they come from simple conclusions we make before reading the details.

That has probably been my biggest lesson recently.

Now, whenever I discover something new, I try to replace my first opinion with my first question.

It completely changes the way I learn.
