• A new scam seems to be arising in the crypto space with warning of account suspension.

  • This time, the scam is targeting Trust Wallet users who should practice caution.

  • Scam email requests Trust Wallet users to click a link and complete KYC requirements.

A new scam torments the crypto community on a new day. As the community awaits the ultimate bullish signals after a long and hard crypto winter it is important to keep our wallets safe, secure, and ready. It is with this mind that scammers have come up with their latest scheme.

In detail, Trust Wallet users have seen a spike in receiving what seems to be an email form Trust Wallet. Upon closer inspection it is clear that the email address the email comes from has nought to do with Trust Wallet’s official communication.

SCAM ALERT: Beware of fraudulent KYC requests for Trust Wallet! These emails may land in your Inbox, not just Spam. There is NO such KYC process for Trust Wallet. Specifically, the email stresses on urgent notice so as to confuse users with a false sense of the need to take swift and drastic measures to protect their crypto assets. Particularly, this case requires users to act fast to avoid the suspension of their crypto wallet thereby freezing their crypto assets.

More so, the email tells users to provide KYC verification to avoid suspension. The email goes into a fierce talk of how important it is for users to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures to meet legal requirements.

This by no means is true. Trust Wallet does not need its users to complete KYC procedures. As always Trust Wallet only needs you to hold your Private Keys which must never be shared with anyone else to access your funds.

Always check official sources like the Official Trust Wallet website, the Trust Wallet app, and official Trust Wallet community and social challenges before hastily clicking links on what appears to be a request to let your guard down. Always exercise caution before trust when it comes to your funds.

As the crypto space continues to grow rapidly, scammers continue to rise despite constantly being blighted by vigilant members of the community and law enforcers. While crypto law is still being drafted, scammers continue to run rampant.

This is why it is very important for members of the crypto community to self educate and practice vigilance before placing trust. Find trusted leaders in the space and adhere to caution.
