Garlinghouse briefed the excited $XRP community on what to expect from the celebration only hours before it began. Dispelling many rumours, he underlined that there will be no significant announcements made during the gathering.

As Garlinghouse made clear, the celebration was held only to honour XRP's triumph over the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in court (SEC). Despite rumours to the contrary, Garlinghouse clarified that there would be no big "announcement" during tonight's event.

In the thick of it all, Garlinghouse unveiled his latest project to celebrate the significance of XRP's triumph as a surprise to the XRP community. The XRP symbol was tattooed on Garlinghouse's right hand.

It wasn't just the initials "XRP" that set this tattoo apart; the date of the landmark non-security judgement by a United States court was also inked on the skin: "07 - 13 - 2023."

As may be expected, Garlinghouse's move sparked a storm of commentary from members of the XRP community and beyond. David Schwartz, CTO of Ripple, was delighted by the sight and mused that, had he been in a different position, he could have considered getting a similar tattoo.

Bill Morgan, a notable proponent of XRP who is also an attorney, expressed scepticism during the XRP party. Morgan said that the XRP Ledger ecosystem will profit more from the XRP 2024 Gold Coast conference than from the Ripple Main Event.
