Kenyan police have raided a warehouse belonging to the recently launched crypto project Worldcoin, seizing documents and machines for investigation. The Kenyan government had previously ordered the suspension of all activities related to Worldcoin's registration and distribution of its native token WLD, to investigate the project's legality and authenticity.

Worldcoin is a decentralized identification project aimed at differentiating humans from artificial intelligence bots. However, its method of requiring users to scan their irises through a biometric verification device called Orb has raised concerns about privacy violations. The Kenyan Capital Markets Authority has also expressed concerns about Worldcoin's registration activities, alerting residents that the project is not regulated in the country. Data protection agencies in France, Germany, and the UK have also begun examining the crypto project to ensure no data regulations are violated.
