The key to success in the fiercely competitive world of cryptocurrency #mining is typically having access to cheap electricity. In Malaysia, some miners are determined to discover energy that is so inexpensive that it is free.

One of #Malaysia's state-owned electric firms, Sarawak Energy, has vowed to track down criminals and accuses #cryptocurrency miners of routinely stealing electricity to fuel their equipment.

In a recent joint investigation with the authorities, Sarawak Energy nabbed two mining companies that were allegedly stealing electricity worth 30,000 Malaysian ringgits (about $6,500) per month.
