I think the word “stock” in bStocks can create one very easy misunderstanding: owning a bStock doesn’t automatically make you a direct shareholder of the underlying company.
That distinction became much more important to me after I looked into how tokenized securities are structured.
A bStock is designed to provide economic exposure linked to the underlying security. But holding the token is not the same legal relationship as having the underlying share registered directly in your name.
One practical consequence is voting rights.
Owning a traditional share may come with shareholder rights such as voting on certain corporate matters. Holding the corresponding bStock doesn’t mean those same direct shareholder rights are transferred to the token holder.
At first, that sounded like a small legal detail to me.
Now I think it’s one of the first things worth understanding.
Because price exposure and shareholder status answer two completely different questions:
“What economic asset am I exposed to?”
and
“What legal rights do I actually hold?”
Tokenization can connect the first without automatically reproducing the second.
That distinction tells me much more about what I’m actually holding than the ticker alone ever could.
When evaluating a tokenized stock, do you look at the rights attached to it - or mainly at the price exposure?
The more I read about modern trading infrastructure, the more I think compliance and settlement are becoming competitive advantages rather than regulatory requirements.
For a long time they were treated as background processes that users rarely thought about.
That seems to be changing.
If institutions are expected to trade alongside retail users, they need more than fast execution. They also need transparent settlement and systems that can be properly audited.
Speed might attract attention.
Trust is what keeps participants around.
That's one of the reasons I find the settlement architecture discussion around GRVT more interesting than most product announcements.

The real promise is not convenience. It is discipline. Can capital stay productive without becoming harder to understand?
One thing I used to ignore was idle capital. 💭 When I'm waiting for the next trade, I usually think my funds are "doing nothing." But doing nothing also has a cost.
