An attacker exploited a Cosmos EVM vulnerability to move $50 million of Nesa tokens off the project’s chain. The attacker recovered $315,000 after spending $255,000, leaving a $60,000 difference. Cosmos Labs disclosed the incident on August 24 and advised some chains to halt and upgrade.

AI-directed deposits could soon raise loan rates for everyday borrowers
A Dallas Fed analysis says AI-directed bank accounts could move deposits rapidly and weaken a funding advantage that supports long-term credit. The analysis estimates that about $7 trillion of bank asset-side interest-rate exposure was supported by deposit duration characteristics. Banks could use costlier wholesale funding or hold more liquid assets, which could raise borrowing costs or reduce lending capacity.

Nvidia analyst says record results are not “impressive enough” as chips sell out

Solana cuts mainnet slot target to 350ms in first speed step
Solana cut its mainnet target slot time from 400 milliseconds to 350 milliseconds in its first staged speed change. The new timing took effect when epoch 1020 began on Aug. 21 after a one-epoch delay under SIMD-0525. Trillium measured a 365.4ms slot-weighted mean in post-change epoch 1021, compared with 420.7ms in pre-change epoch 1015. The next 300ms stage remained pending as of Aug. 26.
