What are Brief Mode and Detailed Mode on Binance Futures?
Binance users trading futures on the Binance app can use two different modes: Detailed Mode and Brief Mode.
Brief Mode lets you see more positions on one screen, especially if you hold many positions on different assets. On the other hand, the Detailed Mode provides a more detailed overview of your futures positions. It also includes additional indicators such as Margin, Return on Equity (ROE), Risk, and Breakeven price. Please note that the Detailed Mode is activated by default.
How to switch between Brief Mode and Detailed Mode for USDâ-M and COIN-M positions on Binance app?
Log in to the Binance app and go to [Futures]. Tap [âŚ] on the top right and choose [Preferences]. Go to [Positions Display Mode] and select [Detailed Mode] or [Brief Mode].
What key indicators does the Detailed Mode display?
The Detailed Mode is activated by default when you trade futures on the Binance app.
In Detailed Mode, you have access to a comprehensive view of your positions, including the following indicators:
1. Position Size: Trading units using stablecoins in USDâ-M Futures, such as USDT. The open position amounts shown are calculated based on the actual coin quantity, and the values change with the last price of the symbol. The position size is quoted in USDT for USDâ-M contracts and coin for COIN-M contracts.
2. Margin: The value of your margin balance (USDT) allocated to the initial margin requirements of your open positions. For more information, you can refer to the dedicated FAQs detailing margin and margin requirements calculation.
3. Mark Price: The latest Mark Price for this contract. The Mark Price is used for unrealized PnL and margin calculations to prevent price manipulation. It may also differ from the Last Price.
Mark Price is calculated based on the Index Price. The Price Index is a bucket of prices from the major Spot market exchanges, weighted by their relative volume. You can refer to this blog article to learn more about Mark Price.
4. Liquidation Price
Your position will be liquidated if the contract Mark Price exceeds the liquidation price.
To learn more about liquidation prices on Binance Futures, read this article on Liquidation Protocols.
8. Profit and Loss (PnL): Measures the change in the value of your positions. Refer to the corresponding FAQ to learn more about PnL calculation for USDâ-M and COIN-M contracts.
If you tap [PnL], youâll see a pop-up window allowing you to base your PnL Calculation on either the contractâs Mark Price or Last Price.
Brief Mode provides a compact view displaying more positions on one screen, making it more convenient for traders who prefer a complete overview of their positions on the Binance app.
The following key indicators of positions are displayed under Brief Mode: Asset Symbol and corresponding position size, Entry Price, Mark Price, Liquidation Price, and PnL.
