$1,000 parked in $HYPE a week ago is worth about $1,073 right now. And it's the only one of the 7 majors I track that's green over 7 days.
The math (Binance spot, 1h closes):
• Oct 28, 13:00 UTC close: $80.60 → $1,000 buys 12.41 HYPE
• Now: $86.45 → 12.41 × 86.45 ≈ $1,073 (+7.3%)
The catch: that same stack was worth ~$1,196 at the Oct 29 top close of $96.42. Since then it's been a slow bleed of lower highs, with a dip to $81.01 in the last 24h before bouncing. Zoom out to a month and it flips: $1,000 at the Oct 5 close ($92.38) would be ~$936 today.
For comparison over the same week: BTC -2.8%, SOL -7.8%, BNB -7.0%.
So relative strength is real, but HYPE is volatile and gave back most of the spike.
Holding the +7% or locking it in before the next leg either way?
Not financial advice.
