Binance said the exchange has allocated over $6.34 billion to cover losses from the largest cryptocurrency theft in history. Binance already holds $5 billion in the affected cryptocurrencies and is buying the remaining tokens with corporate funds to restore user balances one-for-one. A company spokesperson said $3 billion has been frozen separately with help from industry partners. Blockchain analysis firms, including Chainalysis and TRM Labs, attributed the attack to North Korean hackers with high confidence. Binance continues to accept deposits but has suspended withdrawals during security checks.
