Ripple has secured final approval to operate Ripple National Trust Bank under U.S. federal supervision, CEO Brad Garlinghouse announced late Monday. The bank will manage reserves backing RLUSD, Ripple's stablecoin with a market value of about $2.5 billion. The bank will also serve as trustee for those reserves and provide regulated custody services for institutional digital assets. Standard Custody & Trust Company, Ripple's New York-regulated unit, will continue issuing RLUSD.
