Did BTC or ETH perform better over the last seven completed UTC days?

On Binance spot, BTC returned +2.95% and ETH +2.15% between the October 14 and October 21, 2026 daily closes, measured in USDT. BTC led by 0.80 percentage points. That's a narrow answer to a narrow question.

The chart starts both assets at 100. That makes their percentage moves comparable without pretending one coin's unit price tells us which is cheaper. Different price tags aren't a valuation model.

The calculation is simple: ending close divided by starting close, minus one. It uses eight daily closing observations across seven intervals and excludes today's unfinished candle. Trading fees and slippage aren't included.

This shows relative performance over one selected window. It doesn't explain the cause or predict the next move. Two assets also can't tell us whether the broader market is healthy.

What would weaken the conclusion? A different start date or quote currency could change the ranking. The tiny lead matters less if execution costs eat it.

Before calling something an outperformer, ask: over which window, against what, and after which costs?
