Fireblocks denied an Axios report that Visa is in advanced negotiations to acquire Fireblocks for around $2.5 billion. A Fireblocks spokesperson said the acquisition rumors were new to the company and untrue at present. The reported price would be almost 70% below Fireblocks' $8 billion fundraising valuation in January 2022, although fundraising valuations and acquisition prices are not directly comparable. An acquisition could provide Visa with technology and business relationships for stablecoin payments.
