Ethereum's biggest treasury just doubled down on staking — again.
On-chain trackers EmberCN and lookonchain report BitMine staked another 159,728 $ETH (~$390M) yesterday, taking its cumulative staked pile above 5.227M ETH — roughly $12.8B, or 86.5% of everything it holds.
The backdrop comes from Bitwise's Q3 staking report: 43.8M ETH now staked, ~36% of total supply — an all-time record. Annualized yields slipped to 2.63% from 2.81% as the same reward pool spreads over more stakers. Net inflows hit ~2M ETH, the sixth straight positive quarter. Meanwhile the validator entry queue (1.33M ETH, ~23 days) runs ~9x the exit queue (149k ETH).
Why it matters: this is supply going structurally illiquid — while BitMine sits ~64k ETH away from its stated 5%-of-supply goal. Counterweight: 96%+ of staking yield is freshly minted ETH, not real network fees — yields fall as the queue grows.
