Ethereum ended the third quarter with a record 43.80 million $ETH in staking, equal to 35.9% of total supply. Bitwise’s latest staking report shows net inflows of 1.99 million ETH during Q3, marking the network’s sixth consecutive quarter of positive staking flows. These are figures for September 30, not a new one-day deposit event.
At the same time, average annualized Ethereum staking yield declined from 2.81% in Q2 to 2.63% in Q3. The report links the decline to rewards being shared among a larger staked balance. Bitwise also found 69% of $SOL supply staked at quarter-end, with a gross staking yield of 5.99%, down from 6.38%.
More assets committed to network security do not necessarily mean higher rewards per token. The numbers describe participation and yield over a completed quarter, not a forecast for market prices or staking returns.
