$GTC went from about $0.10 to $0.249 after Gitcoin announced its restart as Techne.

Then Upbit added KRW and USDT markets.

Today GTC/USDT trades near $0.27. The 4-hour chart shows one violent spike toward $0.39, a fast retreat, and then a slow climb back.

Good story. But I kept looking for one thing: where does GTC fit in Techne?

Techne is planned as a separate nonprofit-structured brand. No new token. I couldn’t find a fee, burn or buyback path that points back to GTC.

So what is the market paying for? The rebrand, or the word “Upbit”?

A spike that big and that quick looks more like a crowd entering than a business changing.

I’d change my mind if Techne shows a clear value path back to GTC.

Until then I’m watching three things: the proposal, whether the order book gets deeper, and whether the December launch slips on entity paperwork.
