ETH is quietly beating BTC today.
What the ETH/BTC ratio tells you
$ETH is up about 1.9% in 24 hours while $BTC has moved under 0.5%. On a quiet day, that gap is worth understanding.
What the ETH/BTC ratio is?
Divide the ETH price by the BTC price. Right now it's roughly 2,550 ÷ 83,430 ≈ 0.0306. The ratio tells you which asset the market is rotating into, regardless of whether the dollar price is rising or falling.
How do analysts read it?
• Ratio rising: capital is moving further out the risk curve, from BTC into ETH and often then into altcoins. This is usually a risk-on signal.
• Ratio falling: money is moving toward BTC as the "safer" crypto asset. This is usually defensive.
• One day is noise. What matters is a move that holds for several weeks.
Why it matters to you
If you hold both assets, the ratio tells you which one is driving your portfolio. If you're deciding where to add, it shows whether you'd be buying strength or weakness relative to the market leader.
What I watch next?
Whether the ratio holds above 0.03 through the week, and whether ETH's move comes with rising volume or thin volume. A rally on thin volume usually fades.
