🚨 XRP LEDGER VULNERABILITY EXPOSED: A FLAW THAT COULD HAVE THREATENED ITS 100 BILLION XRP SUPPLY?

One of the biggest threats to a blockchain isn’t market volatility, but vulnerabilities hidden deep within its code.

On October 9, the XRP Ledger disclosed a critical payment-engine vulnerability that could have allowed attackers to obtain spendable XRP without paying the full amount required.

The flaw involved an integer overflow when processing multiple exchange offers, potentially causing buyers to pay less than the XRP credited to sellers.

The issue was fixed in xrpld version 3.4.1, released on September 25, 2026. RippleX reported no evidence of exploitation on public networks.

A separate vulnerability involving Batch transactions was also disclosed, with its fix activated on the mainnet on October 9.

My Take:

This is more than a routine software update. XRP’s 100 billion maximum supply is fundamental to its economic design. A flaw capable of bypassing payment calculations could have raised serious concerns about the ledger’s accounting integrity.

The positive sign is the reported response: patch deployment, validator coordination, and additional safeguards. However, this incident raises an important question: How long can critical vulnerabilities remain undetected?

XRP was trading around $1.40 during the reported market-data check. However, its price movement alone does not establish any connection to this security disclosure.

Ultimately, blockchain security depends not only on preventing bugs but also on identifying and resolving them effectively.

❓ Does this response strengthen your confidence in XRP, or does the vulnerability raise concerns about its security?
