$ETH has a number that caught my attention today, and it’s not the price.
U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded roughly $201.9 million in net outflows on October 6. That was the largest single-day outflow in the latest stretch of data and came after several consecutive sessions of withdrawals.
The contrast with late September is pretty noticeable. Ethereum ETFs attracted about $270 million on September 21, $162.2 million on September 22, $104.5 million on September 23 and $66.1 million on September 24.
So the story has changed quickly: strong institutional demand in late September has been followed by a much weaker flow environment at the start of October.
I don’t think one large outflow is enough to say that institutional interest in ETH has disappeared. ETF flows can change from one session to another, and price movements, profit-taking and the broader macro environment can all influence them.
But I do think the shift deserves attention, especially because Bitcoin and Ethereum are not seeing exactly the same flow behaviour right now.
For me, the interesting question is whether $ETH ETF demand starts stabilising again or whether these outflows continue for several more sessions.
Are you watching $ETH ETF flows closely, or do you think price action tells you more right now?
