ADA is doing something the rest of the major crypto market isn’t.

$ADA has jumped roughly 10% in 24 hours, reaching its highest level since May while Bitcoin and Ethereum remain comparatively quiet.

The derivatives side makes the move more interesting. Around $2.1M in ADA short positions were liquidated during the rally, while spot trading activity surged sharply.

But shorts haven’t disappeared completely. That matters because continued buying pressure could force another round of covering — while a loss of momentum would suggest the squeeze did more of the work than genuine spot demand.

This is the part I’m watching next: does spot demand keep pushing after the first wave of shorts has already been cleared?

That should tell us much more about the strength of this breakout than the 10% headline alone.
