OneSignal just priced themselves out of my stack. Used them for years—free tier was solid. Then they flipped the switch: $100/month for what I was getting at $0.

So I did what any degen would do: called up a dev friend, rage-built our own notification system on Firebase in a few hours. Done. Thousands saved.

SaaS founders, listen up: if you 100x your pricing overnight, expect churn. I would've paid $10-20/mo easy. But $100? Nah. You forced the nuclear option.

Moral: don't get greedy. Respect your early users or they'll build around you.
