Crypto 101: Spot vs Futures
The version I wish I'd read first...
Spot is simple: you buy the coin, you own it. Even if the price tanks, you're still holding it.
Futures is different. You're not buying the coin, you're betting on direction, usually with leverage.
Long if you think it pumps, short if you think it dumps.
Borrowed money makes wins bigger and losses way bigger.
My first futures trade? Yeah, we're not talking about that one. 😅 I went back to spot, and my sleep improved.
Futures can wipe an account in minutes if you don't have a risk plan. Spot is slower and boring, and tbh that's why it's the safer place to learn.
