🛸 CASE FILE #209

GPT-6 Astra Reportedly Cracked a 217-Year-Old Napoleonic Cipher.

Starting with one image and one prompt, Astra reportedly transcribed roughly 1,300 handwritten symbols, found part of the cipher key and built its own solver to decode the rest in about six hours.

The claimed solution was then reviewed by historical cryptography researcher Satoshi Tomokiyo. However, I couldn’t find a strong primary or independent source confirming this specific 1809 case, so the details should still be treated as reported rather than fully verified. Recent Astra historical-cipher work has been documented separately, including an Enigma break reviewed by cryptanalyst Frode Weierud.

Two centuries of secrecy — potentially undone in six hours.
