🇰🇷 Hana Bank Brings Bond Settlement to T+0

Hana Bank has issued a $100M, five-year digital bond on Euroclear’s blockchain-based D-FMI platform, becoming the first Korean bank to issue a digitally native note through the infrastructure.

The key breakthrough is settlement. By processing issuance and settlement through distributed ledger technology, the bond achieved same-day settlement (T+0) — while remaining fully connected to Euroclear’s traditional global settlement network.

That means institutional investors can access the digital bond through their existing Euroclear accounts and trading systems, without requiring entirely new infrastructure. Standard Chartered led the structuring, execution and distribution of the transaction.

This is what institutional RWA adoption may look like: not replacing traditional finance overnight, but putting existing capital markets on faster, blockchain-based rails.
