Bitcoin has been showing strength, but the altcoin market still doesn’t look like the classic “everything pumps together” altseason.

Instead, we’re seeing rotation.

One day it’s ZEC. Then HYPE, SOL, NEAR, UNI or another group catches attention. On September 18, for example, HYPE gained more than 11%, ZEC around 8% and SOL roughly 6%, while Bitcoin was up about 2%.

That tells us something important.

Money is entering parts of the altcoin market, but traders are being selective. Different narratives and individual catalysts are attracting liquidity at different times instead of capital spreading equally across hundreds of tokens.

There are signs that this rotation is becoming stronger. CoinDesk recently reported that Bitcoin’s share of the crypto market was falling while traders increasingly looked toward alternative coins.

But the environment is still difficult. CoinShares noted on September 18 that tighter monetary conditions and regulatory uncertainty could continue putting heavier pressure on altcoins than Bitcoin.

So maybe the real question isn’t:

“When will every altcoin pump?”

Maybe it’s:

“Which narrative gets the liquidity next?”

This market is reminding traders that an altcoin recovery doesn’t always happen all at once.

Sometimes it happens one coin, one sector and one narrative at a time.
