🧗 A CLIMBER WITHOUT A ROPE ISN'T BRAVE. HE'S JUST NOT DEAD YET.
Same with trading without a stop-loss.
The 4 stop-loss mistakes that liquidated 113,000 traders this week:
❌ MISTAKE 1 — No stop at all ("I'll close it manually")
You won't. You'll watch it, hope, average down, then get liquidated at 3 AM.
❌ MISTAKE 2 — Stop at a round number ($75,000 exactly)
Everyone puts it there. Market makers know. That's why price wicks to $74,950 and reverses.
✅ Fix: place it BELOW the structure, not at the obvious number
❌ MISTAKE 3 — Stop too tight for the volatility
BTC moves 3% in an hour on Fed days. A 1% stop is a donation.
✅ Fix: check the ATR (Average True Range). Stop = at least 1–1.5x ATR from entry.
❌ MISTAKE 4 — Moving the stop FURTHER away when price approaches it
This is how a -2% trade becomes a -40% trade.
✅ Rule: stops only move in the direction of profit. Never away.
HOW TO SET IT PROPERLY ON BINANCE:
→ Spot: use OCO (One-Cancels-the-Other) → sets take-profit AND stop-loss in one order
→ Futures: set TP/SL in the order panel BEFORE you open the position, not after
→ Use "Mark Price" trigger on futures to avoid getting wicked out by a single bad print
Your stop-loss is the price of admission. Pay it, or the market will charge you much more.
