What If the Asset Never Started on a Blockchain?
This is where the oracle story gets more interesting.
Imagine a smart contract needs the value of:
Bitcoin
Then imagine it needs:
Apple
Then:
EUR/USD
Then a tokenized version of an offchain asset.
The blockchain doesn't fundamentally care where the asset originated.
It needs a reliable reference that can be brought into its environment.
$DIA
's RWA oracle already provides live reference feeds for traditional assets including AAPL, TSLA, NVDA, COIN and ORCL, with information about their exchanges and update frequencies available directly on the feed pages.
To me, this points toward a bigger idea:
Oracles aren't only connecting blockchains to crypto markets.
They're connecting programmable applications to financial markets.
That's a much larger addressable problem.
And as more traditional assets become tokenized, the ability to bring trustworthy external financial data into smart contracts becomes increasingly important.
The asset can be old-school.
The application can be completely onchain.
The data layer is where the two worlds meet.
