Bitcoin is starting the Asian session near a key psychological zone after fresh reports showed the market pressing toward $80,000. The rally is being driven by a mix of renewed ETF demand, easier liquidity expectations, a weaker dollar narrative and improving US regulatory sentiment.
The most important short-term signal is institutional flow. Recent reports showed US spot Bitcoin ETFs taking in nearly $2 billion over five consecutive inflow days, while Bitcoin and Ether ETFs together drew roughly $2.6 billion in their strongest weekly inflow period since late 2025. That matters because the market had spent much of the year waiting for evidence that spot demand was returning. If inflows continue for several sessions, traders may view the move as more durable than a simple short-covering rally.
Macro remains central. The latest crypto rally followed US Treasury actions that affected longer-term bond-market expectations and revived the dollar-debasement trade. Bitcoin, gold and other scarce assets benefited as investors looked for hedges against fiscal pressure, changing yields and currency weakness. For the next 24 to 72 hours, rate commentary and Treasury-market volatility remain important risk drivers.
Regulation is also helping sentiment. The SEC and CFTC are discussing clearer frameworks for digital assets, while US lawmakers continue to debate broader market-structure legislation such as the CLARITY Act. Clearer rules could make it easier for banks, exchanges, asset managers and public companies to expand crypto activity.
Ethereum is following the institutional-flow theme, but its medium-term setup depends on more than ETF demand. Traders should watch stablecoin settlement, DeFi activity, layer-2 usage and whether Ether ETF inflows keep pace with Bitcoin. Stablecoins are also becoming a macro story, with policy discussions increasingly focused on reserves, Treasury-bill demand and payment use cases.
Risk remains two-sided. A rapid rally can leave futures positioning crowded, and a reversal in ETF flows or a rebound in yields could pressure leveraged positions. DeFi security headlines also remain a recurring risk for market confidence.
Key watchlist: Bitcoin ETF flow continuity, Ether ETF follow-through, US rate expectations, stablecoin regulation, exchange/security incidents, DeFi liquidity and whether spot buying replaces leverage as the main source of momentum.
