I’m starting to think Dusk’s staking economics tell us more about its current stage than the headline APR does.

Around 1.6M DUSK is locked across the provisioner set, with roughly 200 active participants. That creates an attractive reward environment, but it also exposes a question I care about more: who is willing to operate the network when the economics become less generous?

High staking returns can help bootstrap participation. The harder part is turning those early operators into a broad, durable security layer as the amount of regulated value moving through Dusk increases.

That matters because institutional infrastructure can’t rely on a small group of operators simply because the incentives are currently strong.

I’d rather see Dusk gradually reach a point where network participation is driven by meaningful economic activity, not mainly by unusually high staking rewards.

For me, that transition may be one of the clearest signals of whether Dusk is actually maturing into financial infrastructure.
