Bitcoin has exploded through its recent range.
At the latest check, $BTC was near $76,350, up approximately 9.4% in 24 hours after reaching $76,917. $ETH traded around $2,372, while $XRP was near $1.31 after an approximately 18% daily surge.
The catalyst is bigger than price alone. Optimism increased after President Trump urged Congress to advance clearer digital-asset regulation. Treasury-market intervention initially lowered long-term yields, while heavy short covering added fuel to the crypto rally.
The bullish case is real, but so is the risk of buying after the easiest move has already happened.
Bitcoin futures open interest increased about 8% over the past day. Ethereum open interest rose roughly 5%, while XRP open interest climbed nearly 12%. Funding remains positive without reaching extreme levels, suggesting leverage is growing but has not yet become completely overheated.
Here are the three setups worth watching.
1. Bitcoin breakout confirmation
The former five-day resistance zone sits around $75,000–$75,800. A controlled pullback that holds this area would turn previous resistance into support and provide stronger confirmation than simply chasing the current candle.
The next momentum trigger is a sustained move above today's $76,917 high. A breakout without follow-through, followed by a drop below approximately $74,500, would weaken the setup and increase the probability of a deeper retracement.
Bias: bullish above $75,000, cautious below $74,500.
Ethereum is approaching the $2,400 resistance area. Acceptance above $2,400 could support another continuation leg, while a pullback that stabilizes around $2,340 may offer a cleaner entry structure.
XRP is the faster but more crowded momentum trade. The important breakout level is approximately $1.344. A confirmed hold above that level would support continuation. Failure to hold $1.30 would indicate that momentum buyers are losing control. After such a large daily move, waiting for confirmation is safer than chasing a vertical candle.
3. Binance and token-event opportunities
Binance's KGEN Alpha competition has a two-times early-bird scoring window from August 21 at 13:00 UTC until August 22 at 13:00 UTC. This could increase short-term KGEN activity and volatility, but rewards are ranking-based and do not guarantee that trading volume will be profitable.
Looking ahead, BNB Chain's Pasteur hard fork is scheduled for August 25 at 02:30 UTC. A smooth upgrade would be modestly positive for the BNB ecosystem, although much of the event may already be priced in.
The bearish supply event is Humanity Protocol. Its official vesting schedule implies a release of roughly 266 million H around August 25. That represents a meaningful increase relative to the reported circulating supply. Watch exchange deposits and whether buyers absorb the new liquidity before treating weakness as a bargain.
Today's final macro trigger is the U.S. flash PMI release at 13:45 UTC. Strong data could push Treasury yields higher and pressure crypto. Softer data could support risk appetite, although oil above $90 remains an inflation risk.
The opportunity is not simply to buy everything.
Bitcoin has the strongest confirmed trend. Ethereum needs $2,400. XRP needs to prove that its rally can survive after leverage increased. H faces supply risk, while KGEN and BNB have event-driven volatility ahead.
Trade the confirmation, not the headline.
