Let me tell you about the most expensive lesson I ever learned.
I used to love leverage. 5x, 10x, sometimes 20x. I thought it was the fastest way to turn a small account into something big.
And sometimes it worked. I'd have days where I doubled my money in hours. I felt like a genius.

The math is brutal: A 10x leverage trade only needs a 10% move against you to get liquidated. In crypto, 10% moves happen all the time. Even in calm markets.
One bad trade can erase weeks of gains.
📍 HOW IT AFFECTS YOUR MIND
Leverage changes how you think. You stop focusing on good setups. You start gambling. You chase every move because you "need to make up losses."
Your stop losses get tighter. Your position sizes get bigger. Your emotions get louder.
It's a recipe for disaster.
📍 WHAT I DO NOW
I trade spot only. No leverage. No funding fees. No liquidation risks.
My profits are smaller per trade. But my losses are also smaller. And I can hold through volatility without losing sleep.
Guess what? My overall profitability went up after I stopped using leverage. Because I stopped getting wiped out.
📍 MY RULE
If a trade isn't worth taking with 1x leverage, it's not worth taking at all.
Leverage doesn't make bad trades good. It just makes bad trades faster.
I'm not saying no one should ever use leverage. Some professionals do it successfully. But for most retail traders? It's a trap.
I was in that trap for two years. Getting out was the best decision I made.
