Foresight News reports that in a filing on Monday, Sam Bankman-Fried’s (SBF) defense team wants the U.S. judge overseeing the FTX founder’s case to clarify the scope of the ruling on certain arguments that lawyers can make during the trial. Arguments include whether FTX can be said to be unregulated in the U.S., even though FTX.US does follow applicable rules, and other questions include whether Bankman-Fried will be able to discuss the possibility of FTX creditors receiving significant compensation in the exchange's ongoing bankruptcy case. , and whether the former FTX executive can mention his charitable giving and philanthropy.
Earlier this month, Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled in favor of the Justice Department, granting prosecutors’ motion to block SBF from making certain arguments at trial.
