Recent launch of BlockDag...
Full of red flags apparently scam project, already under investigation from DL News.
From a simple screenshot from GitHub we can see the following red flags as well :
What do these repositories tell us?
go-ethereum: This is a direct copy (fork) of the standard Ethereum code. Almost every new project does this to be compatible with the Ethereum network, but there hasn’t been any activity here since February (Updated on Feb 22).
disposable-service: This is a script for "disposable email domains." Honestly, this has nothing to do with blockchain technology or a DAG structure. It’s quite strange for such a project to be in the official GitHub of a major cryptocurrency.
blockdag-scripts: We see an installer for Linux and MacOS. Its last update was on January 9th. That is a long time ago for a project that claims to be in the heat of launching its Mainnet.
blockdag-monitoring-dashboard: This mentions "mock Prometheus metrics." The last activity was on December 30, 2025.
2. The "Red Flags" in the image:
Lack of Activity: In the software world, if a project is "hot" and developing, you would see updates from "1 hour ago," "5 hours ago," or at least from yesterday. Here, most things have been frozen for months.
0 Stars / 0 Forks: Look at the numbers next to the stars and forks. They are almost all zero. This means that no other developer in the world is interested in this code, testing it, or improving it. For a project claiming a billion-dollar potential, this is highly unusual.
Python/Shell/TypeScript: These are auxiliary languages. The core is missing – the actual DAG algorithm, which should be written in a more robust language (like Rust or C++) and be full of activity.
3. The Conclusion
This GitHub looks more "cosmetic." It was likely created so they could have a link on their website, allowing investors to say, "Oh, look, they have code!". But when you look at the details, you see that no real technological revolution is happening there.
Stay safe and inform yourself before invest into new projects.
