If you hold FDUSD, get this straight first: the blacklisted address belongs to the attacker, not the few tokens in your wallet.

According to on-chain monitoring account Specter, stablecoin issuer First Digital has blacklisted an address linked to the Binance security incident. The address reportedly holds around 3.4 million FDUSD. First Digital CEO Vincent Chok and First Digital Labs later publicly confirmed that the FDUSD stolen in the incident had been frozen and that they were working with the Binance team. Their statement emphasized that protecting FDUSD holders and preventing the perpetrators from moving the stolen funds were top priorities.

A few points that directly matter to everyday users 👇

🔹 Who was frozen: The action targets an address linked to this attack. It is not a blanket measure against all FDUSD holders. The issuer can blacklist specific addresses and freeze the movement of tokens held there.

🔹 Can you redeem: Based on public statements so far, there has been no official announcement that the redemption channel for ordinary users is closed. The CEO’s key message was to protect holders and freeze the stolen funds. FDUSD in your own on-chain wallet that isn’t at a blacklisted address is a separate matter from this blacklist action.

🔹 Don’t confuse the figures: The 3.4 million FDUSD refers to the amount specifically identified for blacklisting in this case; it’s only one small piece of a broader effort to recover the stolen funds. Issuers such as Tether and Circle have already frozen large amounts of stablecoins linked to the same incident. The figures may change as the investigation progresses, so don’t mistake “how much one issuer froze” for “how much you lost in your account.”

🔹 On the platform side: Binance has stated that user funds are safe, that it will cover the losses from this incident, and that it is conducting a security review. Check the app or official announcements for the real-time status of deposits and withdrawals, including which networks are available. Don’t rely on secondhand screenshots.

In short: whether a stablecoin can be used or redeemed depends on whether the issuer froze your address. This public action targets the attacker’s holdings. Ordinary users should check official channels and avoid clicking unfamiliar “claim compensation” or “speed up unfreezing” links.

Will you keep using FDUSD for deposits and withdrawals, or switch to another stablecoin for now while you wait and see?
