Hard to believe: a brand-new wallet was liquidated four times in just 10 hours 💥

On-chain data shows that around 11 p.m. last night, the address starting with 0xb15b bridged in about 1.25 million USDC, then opened a 25x leveraged ETH short on Hyperliquid:

🔹 Opened a short position of 13,826 ETH, worth about $33.5 million
🔹 Average entry price: about $2,366
🔹 At 25x leverage, a move of roughly 4% in the wrong direction would bring the position close to liquidation

And then ETH rebounded. As it climbed from $2,409 to $2,444, chunks of the position were liquidated at every step: $6.66 million, $5.35 million, $4.30 million, and $3.46 million. Across the four liquidations, 8,163 ETH—about $19.78 million worth—were wiped out.

Based on the original position size, about 5,663 ETH in short positions are still left on the books.

ETH’s rally wasn’t all that dramatic. What really made this deadly was the position size and leverage. When a highly leveraged short meets a rebound, the market doesn’t need a major move—a little volatility is enough.

Would you open a 25x short during a rebound?
