Whoa, will you soon be able to directly “bet on earnings data” in the U.S. stock market? 🎲

The U.S. SEC just approved Cboe to launch something new: binary options tied to public companies’ KPIs.

In plain English: instead of betting on whether a stock price will go up or down, you can bet directly on whether a business metric hits a target—
🔹 Coinbase’s trading volume
🔹 How many $BTC MARA mines
🔹 Robinhood’s user count and revenue

It’s a yes-or-no bet: if the metric reaches the set threshold, each contract pays out $1; if it doesn’t, it expires worthless. The first batch covers 23 companies and more than 100 metrics. Robinhood is expected to be the first brokerage to offer them to retail investors.

Even more interesting was SEC Chair Atkins’s statement: decades of “turf wars” between the SEC and CFTC have slowed financial innovation, and this approval marks a new direction of “coordination, innovation, and investor choice.”

Prediction markets used to be something the crypto world ran on its own. Now Wall Street is bringing “betting on data” straight to regulated exchanges—and the operating metrics of crypto companies are now things people can bet on.

Do you think this legitimizes prediction markets, or is it making the U.S. stock market more and more like a “casino”? 👇
