Whoa, Russia’s biggest bank is getting into crypto too 🏦

The Central Bank of Russia just added Sberbank to both its exchange and digital asset custody registries—effectively granting it licenses for both trading and custody. The plan is to let people buy and sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT right in the banking app they already use, starting December 1, serving around 110.6 million retail customers.

Back in 2022, they were still debating whether to ban crypto. Now the country’s biggest bank wants to bring on-chain assets into online banking—the tide has turned fast. Of course, the rollout still depends on the relevant rules being finalized.

You’ll be able to buy $BTC right from your bank account. Is this bullish, or does it mean crypto is becoming even more “bankified”? Let’s chat in the comments 👇
