Polygon is no longer just a blockchain—it has just become a licensed U.S. payments company 💜

Polygon Labs has officially completed its acquisition of Coinme, bringing a U.S.-compliant money transfer business directly into its own Open Money Stack (OMS) payments infrastructure.

Here’s how substantial the licenses and credentials are:
🔹 Operations across 48 U.S. states
🔹 37 state money transmitter licenses + 11 applicable exemptions
🔹 Registered with FinCEN as a Money Services Business (MSB)

This means Polygon can handle the entire journey of a payment itself—from a bank card or cash deposit, through on-chain transfers, to funds the recipient can spend directly—without having to rely on a string of partners.

The first customers are already on board: Tazapay, Mesh, Toku, and Kira, using it for cross-border business payments, account funding, global payroll, and dollar services.

Put simply, the stablecoin payments race ultimately comes down to licenses and on/off-ramps. This move by $POL is about building a competitive moat.

Do you think licensed payments could lead the market to revalue $POL ? Let’s talk in the comments 👇
