Standard Chartered predicts AVAX price growth to $250 by 2029
Jeffrey Kendrick, head of digital asset research at Standard Chartered, shared his forecast regarding the Avalanche blockchain token — AVAX. In his opinion, the asset could increase in price by more than 10 times and reach $250 by the end of 2029. This was reported by The Block.
According to Kendrick, a key factor in the growth was the recent Avalanche9000 upgrade, known as Etna. It significantly reduced the cost of launching custom blockchains (subnets) on Avalanche, lowering the staking threshold from $450,000 to almost zero.
He added that this made the network more attractive to developers:
the number of active subnets compatible with Etna has increased to 25%;
the number of developers has risen by 40% after the upgrade;
some projects are migrating from other L2 solutions in search of better conditions.
Kendrick noted that although fees on Avalanche remain higher than in some solutions on Ethereum (for example, Arbitrum), new L1 subnets could attract fresh projects, especially in the gaming and consumer application sectors.
He also remarked that the price increase will occur gradually:
$55 — by the end of 2025;
$100 — in 2026;
$150 — in 2027;
$200 in 2028;
$250 by the end of 2029.
