On Thursday, September 24, The Clearing House said it had selected Quant to power its On-Chain Money Initiative. The Clearing House is the payments company owned by 25 of the largest financial institutions in the country, and it runs the RTP and CHIPS networks, which together clear and settle more than 2 trillion dollars every day.
⚙️ Here's what Quant will actually do.
Quant will handle the interoperability, orchestration and transaction management layer of a new network where banks can clear and settle tokenized deposits with each other. It will also connect that network to the fiat payment systems banks already use. The goal is payments that settle instantly and trigger automatically when agreed conditions are met, with the network targeted to open to participating institutions in the first half of 2027.
