Today I want to introduce The Oracle, a novel by Ari Juels, published on February 20, 2024, by Talos Press.
Juels is a computer scientist, a professor at Cornell Tech, and a specialist in blockchain and smart contracts. In this work, he combines that technological world with references to ancient Greece.
The story follows a software developer and an FBI agent who try to stop a blockchain-based criminal operation. The system offers cryptocurrency rewards for murders, while an artificial intelligence analyzes news to decide whether to release the payments. The novel imagines a near future where technology, power, and human consequences are deeply intertwined.
