This was the highlight of the last bull run. My portfolio had exploded. Numbers I never would have imagined reaching in my bank account were showing up on my screen. I spent my days doing calculations, planning my future, imagining myself financially free, away from the constraints of wage employment.
I started talking to my close ones, with this slightly naïve pride of someone who thinks they’ve figured everything out before others. I was convinced the surge would last forever, that I’d be able to quit my job in just a few weeks.
