The Kohaku initiative from the Ethereum Foundation has rolled out an SDK for integrating privacy directly into wallets via ERC-4337, freeing users from the crutches of third-party interfaces and elevating Railgun, Tornado Cash, and Privacy Pools to the level of base software. Vitalik Buterin's attempt to turn ZK-privacy from an elitist feature for geeks into a 'default layer' is a strong long-term driver for ETH's utility. However, in the short term, this won't impact the price: regulators are guaranteed to bare their teeth at any attempt to legalize mixers at the wallet level, so developers will have to navigate a legal hell before mass adoption.
