Node operators must upgrade to client v1.7.7 beforehand, and exchanges including Binance and MEXC will briefly suspend BSC deposits and withdrawals during activation.

The catch: this is still a scheduled event 8 days out — the throughput numbers are testnet benchmarks, not mainnet-proven. Hardforks are execution-risk events, not demand catalysts, and BSC upgrades have historically had little standalone price impact. There's also a background overhang worth naming: BNB Chain is still dealing with legal action from an August 1 incident where a former employee misused a retained seed phrase to launch an unauthorized memecoin.
