Shares of crypto miners rose on 16 Mar after companies unveiled new hardware and data centre expansion plans. This drew investor attention despite mixed performance across the broader mining sector.

Bitdeer Technologies Group gained as much as 6% intraday to a high of $8.47, while HIVE Digital Technologies climbed as much as 2% to $2.30 before falling back later in the New York trading session.
The move comes as both companies released updates highlighting new hardware and infrastructure expansion plans aimed at boosting long-term revenue streams beyond traditional Bitcoin mining. Bitdeer announced the launch of a new mining machine, the SEALMINER DL1 Air, designed for the Scrypt algorithm used by coins such as Litecoin (LTC) and Dogecoin (DOGE).
The device is capable of delivering a hash rate of 25 GH/s with a power efficiency of 149 J/GH, according to the company. Bitdeer said the product reflects its strategy of developing proprietary application-specific integrated (ASIC) chips and expanding its mining hardware ecosystem.
